Saint Louis Support Center
SSC INTENTIONAL SELF-CARE PEER SUPPORT GROUP
Saint Louis Support Center is now offering a diverse and inclusive support peer group every other Sunday from 2:00 - 3:30 PM, beginning December 2, 2018. It is not a therapy group, but rather a "safe & brave space" for those in attendance to reflect on what is happening in their lives, learn new techniques for managing stress, and to share their wisdom with others.
“Caring for myself is not self-indulgence,
it is self-preservation, and that is an act of political warfare.”
This group is appropriate for college/ graduate students and adults of all walks of life who are experiencing any of the following:
- Ongoing chronic stress
- Effects of past trauma
- Caregiver related-stress
- Parenting challenges
- Living with effects of mental illness in the family
- Chronic illness or health challenges
- Work-related or school-related stress or burnout
- Effects of racial bias in community or work-related spaces
- Times of transition that are causing increased stress
